Need some help identifying the type of blank this might be, General tip opening,
and what marking significance (if any) of marking next to model D. I have
attached picture. Thanks!

Jim made two Bb mouthpieces for me around ~1980 on Riffault blanks--that might be a possibility. The first was a 'B' (maybe 1.14 tip x ML?) the other a AA (~1.03 x ML-L?). Given that I'd guess a 'D' is more open. I know at that time he favored longer/straighter (I.e, closer) facings.
