There is an ad on Ebay for a "Continentale" Buffet clarinet. It claims to be the equal of the R-13 or RC. Is it? Or is it an intermediate clarinet, like the Evette or Academy models?

I've been around quite a while and I've never heard of the Continentale model. Please avoid it like the plague for your own good. Go to your local Buffet dealer and get a new Buffet and treat it well, the you will have a wonderful clarinet for ther next 30 years.

I'm wondering if it's like the C-13s that Brook Mays sells. That is what is called the "International" model. Could be a forerunner? But, the suggestion to get in touch with the Buffet dealer is a valid one. Call up the Brook Mays 800 number (you can get it from their website).
I tried some C-13s recently at my local dealer and they are excellent intermediate clarinets. However, only a few hundred more and you can get the standard, dependable R-13.
