Hiya Hiroshi!
The biggest advantage in SACD would be recordings made with the DSD system.
I have heard some re-released program material on SACD, mastered in the analog domain or (horrors!) using 16-bit digital systems that won't get me to spend big money.
The SACD of Yo-yo Ma was sweet... nice high frequency presentation, which I feel is the strong suit of the DSD recordings. This bodes well for lovers of the woodwind section (that would include me).
If you do purchase an SACD player, make certain that it can read the old CD format as well.
To answer Corey's question;
Recorded music may be the only way for some of us to ever hear our Clarinet faves, ya wee sprat. How else am I to hear Gervase De Peyer and Buddy Wright?
As in some of the other chains that are 'off-color', if you're not interested in the topic, go play with yer Nintendo why doncha?
It's like saying the grocery store is only a place to buy food, some people come just to squeeze the oranges and have a coffee.
