I also heard that Mr.Morales and Curtis are parting ways due to a difference of opinion on the use of Legere reeds by Curtis students.

No - that is false.
Reeds??? Wouldn't happen
Ricardo and Michael are not there anymore, but reeds are not in the picture.
Ricardo is still teaching at the Curtis Summerfest!

So, between Mark (nuccio) and Boris leaving for warmer climates, do u think that this means I can put my feet up on the metaphorical desk of the ny Phil and Met's HR departments, putting them in a bidding war for the best compensation package for my clarinet services in the reindition of "three blind mice?" ![[wink]](http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/smileys/smilie3.gif)

Too bad for Curtis, loosing two teachers like that. Plenty to learn about approaching the clarinet in different but equally valid ways from them. This is especially a big loss so soon after Don Montanaro ended his long career teaching at Curtis and headed off to retire.

Hi David...
Did you confirm this news with Boris? I never trust anything NL says unless it's confirmed by a reputable source such as you! If you confirmed it, I believe it.
It looks as if you did confirm it.
Thanks!
Delmar

There is no word on if Boris will accept. I'd imagine he would, but there is no word out either way.

I would still like to hear why Burt didn't go for it, and what his plans are.

His plans are to keep his current job.
He had nothing to prove, and gets to play Principal also.
He is not 2nd part after all.
Spoke with him at Mich's Retirement party.

I knew about Ricardo leaving Curtis but not Micheal. So who will be teaching there now? Anybody know?

So all of this musical chairs begs a question that wasn't much of an issue when I was a student in another era: do the students of these star teachers follow them when they change teaching positions, or stay at the school they were originally accepted into?

So glad to hear that about Burt! I was under the impression that there wasn't going to be a Co-Prinicipal position anymore. Thanks for the info, David!
