Hello
I'm looking at purchasing a secondhand Buffet Bb clarinet. The only details I have is the invoice/receipt states it is a Buffet Graduate, purchased in 1990. Serial number is 324***, and marking on clarinet says Made in France.
Any ideas please on what model this Clarinet might be?
Also, whether it would be a good purchase, and what sort of money should be offered.
Thank you.

Well the 324... series is for sure 1990, however to my knowledge which is pretty decent, but surely not the best, Buffet never made a graduate model, at least in the USA, Canada, and France. It's probably an R13 model. Is it possible that the word "Graduate," was added on to the horn, perhaps for college students in a graduate Music Ed type of program? Does the engraving look like the type of engraving that Buffet uses? Can you take a close-up picture of it before buying it? Also make sure that the serial numbers all match on each joint. You have me wondering what you've found! Buffet made Master clarinets for student level players.
