After reading your post, I tried some tenor sax mouthpieces on my 1979 Selmer (Paris) alto clarinet. The tone quality sounded okay but the intonation was terrible. I also tried alto sax mouthpieces: also terrible. However, I should note that all of my saxophone mouthpieces are oldies, mostly from the 1920s, with a couple from the 1930s and one from a sax made in 1949. Maybe modern sax mouthpieces would sound better, but I will stick with my Selmer HS* alto clarinet mouthpiece. I do use V-16 alto sax reeds on alto clarinet.

On the contrary, I've tried an alto clarinet mouthpiece on a bari sax and found it to be quite squeaky. Still sounded better than my Bundy alto clarinet :)

No, but am using a highly-modified vintage 1920s tenor sax mouthpiece (huge chamber, close facing) on a 1977 F. Arthur Uebel 'narrow-bore' (.780") bass clarinet. The best mouthpiece I've found for that instrument so far. Sometimes one has to think outside the box :)

I using a Meyer medium chamber T.s. mpc on my Boosey&Hawkes alto clar.the intonation is much better ,twice the volume and half the resistance .Really good for jazz sound not so much for classical but a vast improvement over a custom Clark& Fobes mpc.

I use a walter Grabner basset horn mouthpiece on my Selmer Paris alto clarinet.
The Selmer alto bore (approx 17mm) matches the BH mouthpiece almost exactly.

I have tried a BUNCH of alto mouthpieces (like 11 different brands!!) and the Lomax was clearly the best. A Hite came in second. I liked the Lomax so well I bought a second so as to have another good one if I damaged the first one. I have a Buffet Prestige alto but it also worked on a LeBlanc that i owned before.
