I don't know of any other wooden clarinets with resin lined bores and tonehole bushings that are cast so they're integral with the bore lining (there are several with bushed toneholes only), but the Yamaha YCL-450M Duet+ is probably in a league of its own.
For several decades now, some oboes have lined (either partially or fully lined/sleeved) top joint and also lower joint bores to safeguard against cracking, so it's about time the clarinet world caught up.
I know these clarinets have been on the market for a while, but what I can't make out is if the middle tenon is entirely plastic or has plastic tenon rings cast as part of the bore and tonehole linings as the one in the official photo appears to be either plastic or has a plastic tenon ring:

I'm hoping it's a plastic sleeved wooden tenon as that will have far more strength than an entirely plastic tenon which is the weakest area on any composite clarinet.
The only clarinet I know of with plastic lined sockets and plastic tenon rings were Selmer Prologue which I thought was a nice feature as it safeguarded against water soaking into the end grain and also ensured a good and bind-free fit between the tenon and socket which is something that plagues a lot of brand new wooden clarinets when they're being played in which is easy enough to sort out, but shouldn't be overdone or the tenons will rock in their sockets.

Ok, I've just found and read this:
"The upper joint tenon is also formed as an extension to the resin bore. This ensures smooth connection between the joints even under moist conditions."

So it does have an entirely plastic tenon - I had hoped the middle tenon was lined and plastic tipped for strength. But as long as no-one has sword fights or drops or knocks them over or off a chair, the middle tenon should be as strong as any resin bodied clarinet.

I find their description a little ambiguous, and they don't show diagram of that area.
The resin in bore is pretty thin and they claim to preserve 90% of the wood so if tenon was entirely plastic I would imagine a very weak point where the all-plastic tenon merged with the thin plastic lining.

And why the lining, or, in other words, the wood on the outside at all? Pure cosmetics? Why not just plastic?
