Has anybody tried Viotto VD3 motuhpieces? (it´s the french model)
I need to buy a new bass clarinet mouthpiece, and I have heard good things about Viotto mouthpieces in general.
I would be very grateful to you if you have any recommendations for this or another bass clarinet mouthpiece, since I have only played with a really old and borrowed Vandoren B45 for a few months now.
I was able to try a Selmer C** (I think it was the two stars) mouthpiece, and I liked it, but they are not manufatured any more.
PD: I have read on this forum great reviews about Walter Grabner mouthpieces, but they are too expensive for me right now...

The Viotto may very well be a good mouthpiece, but 2.01 mm is very, very open - much more so than the B45. Mouthpieces that open are a big challenge on the bass clarinet. I second Hank's recommendation of the Garrett. The Debut is fine if you absolutely can't spend more money or if the bass is a secondary instrument for you. The Nova is good, but the Garrett is better (a true professional-level mouthpiece) for less money. IMHO, of course

The B45 is listed at 1.93 mm. So 2.01 mm is only a little more open IMO. The Vandoren B50 is listed at 2.15 mm. I just restored a slant Link 6 that measured .092" = 2.33 mm. Very playable when paired with a long facing.

The mouthpieces I play most are quite open (B50 and Fobes HB). The usual suspects of more air and stronger embouchure aside, my experience has been that open mouthpieces are much tougher to match reeds to and are more challenging to tune, especially the throat tones. For me, the B45 blows more like a legit-style mouthpiece. I'm pretty surprised it measures that open!
I admit that I jumped to conclusions a bit. I have no idea what the original poster is looking for sonically or what his or her performance diet is like. That said, I think most players will be more comfortable, have less to hassle with and get a more traditional sound by playing a mouthpiece in the 1.7 - 1.8mm range.

I will also put a finer point on my post recommending the MO.
The MO (~1.66-1.70) works just fine for me with a VD 3.0 Blue Box, a La Voz M, or Legere' 2.5 or softer. Roger Garrett has a less open bass clarinet MP, the M (~1.52-1.60) in the same price range.

I play soprano clarinet on a Vandoren BD5, and before I used a B40.
I play bass clarinet on my teacher's old prestige low eb bass clarinet, I think it is from the 80s, with a Vandoren B45, but since I have been looking for a while for my own setup, I bought Last week a Noblet Paris low eb bass clarinet (the one announced on this post) and I am waiting till it arrives.
I'm from Spain, and I am looking for a versatile mouthpiece for playing both classical and jazz.
Maybe I am asking for too much....

You are not asking for too much at all
The best thing to do is try mouthpieces yourself and see what suits you best. I'm guessing the most easily available ones to you are the Vandoren and Selmer. Once you have your new horn, give some of them a try.
Do you have a local music shop that carries them?

I've tried a bunch of Viotto mouthpieces and they were all very good. They all had characterstics that are not what I prefer, but if they were I would probably play one. Definitely worth trying.
