Hello fellow clarinetists. You might have seen the posts I made about bass clarinet modifications. Relive it or not, I am actually still in middle school, but am very advanced ( I think) for my age. I have been playing the B.C. for a little under a year now and composing for about 2ish months. I am not really sure what I should do for solo and ensemble this year. My band teacher (a really good clarinetist by the way) said I could do one of the songs I wrote for it. I am not positive though that I want to use it. Any suggestions? Also, I really want to get into honors band and have no idea how/what I should practice. Any ideas? But I also want to talk about some advanced skills on the bass clarinet and/or soprano clarinet. This "double forum" will be helpful for beginners that want to play professionally, people like me who are advanced and really want to soak all the knowledge in and go to college for it, or people that just kind of want a refresher.

Suggestion: bring up your thoughts about what to play with your band director and take his/her advice. Otherwise, ask more specific questions for the BBoard to try to answer. You will also find the search function here valuable as you come up with questions....start there.
