Hi Dee,
this is in response to your reply about playing clarinet with my father playing pedal steel guitar......so if i were to get a C clarinet I could play with my father without transposing?

Yes that would be correct. There are C clarinets available but they are not common. You would probably have to order one.

Buffet makes an E-11 in the key of C. You can order one at the Woodwind and Brasswind in Southbend Indiana.

Yes, but when will they be delivered ? They've been on back-order for a long, long time. They do have other makes/models in stock though.

sorry if this is a stupid question but would the lyons c clarinet work or is that something different? and are the fingerings the same?

The Lyons is more an educational tool. It is Boehm, but with some keys missing, and plays on an e flat mouthpiece. That might suit you, but it is unlikely to compare with a true C clarinet (haven't tried one though).
