Hello, everyone!

Second time posting this. I'm not sure what happened to my original post...

Anyway, can anyone tell me information about Jean Cartier clarinets? I've had this one since 2004; it was given to me by my clarinet teacher at the time. It is wooden.

Thanks!

Looks like it's built like a tank! How does it play?

I was reading something where somebody was remarking that some Jean Cartier clarinet model names were the same as Pierret saxophones, but then remarking that Pierret didn't make clarinets- ah but I have seen a Pierret marked clarinet! Hmmm... That Eb looks beautifully made anyway, but like the others, I want to know if it's a good player!

Thank you and it plays great! I'm not skilled at E-flat but can get by. The lowest notes and clarion registers seem to be the best on this horn; throat tone keys are slightly difficult to press but I might need a repairman to soften the springs.

Jean Cartier was a stencil name for Dolnet made instruments, Paris, (c. 1930-1970) for sale in the US market. Clarinet Models included : 14-K; Professional; Artiste. I once owned a Jean Cartier clarinet that was very nice!

Also, I've never seen a Dolnet E-flat before, so its possible that it was made by another maker and stenciled Jean Cartier as well. For example, Couesnon made many E-flats that were stenciled with other names.
