Has anybody tried the recently released Yamaha CSVR yet? Judging from the presentation at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64XEb0NpKJs, it seems to have a fresh, clear sound with good balance and intonation. How does it compare with the Buffet R13 and Yamaha's top line CSG III?

I don't see a RH C#/G# anywhere on that guy. I've played on a few of them; they're well-made horns. They greatly remind me of a Festival. They have a lot of color and clarity, but pack more resistance then your R13 and friends.

I have the Bb and the A, they both play very well and each has it's own clear, very pretty tone. The A is wonderful, the notes that I have always suffered with on my Buffet RC are clear, responsive and in tune.

I just got a pair too, and I love them! The A clarinet in particular is really delightful...rich and woody sounding without being fuzzy or underpowered. I agree, they do remind me of the Festival model...at almost half the price!
My regular instruments are a pair of Yamaha CSG's, which I've played for the past eight years.
