Chamber music from after ca. 1950 including clarinet

Hi,

In my music academy we are supposed to find "contemporary" (after ca. 1950) chamber music including our own instrument. Unfortunately, the system in our library's database does not allow us to use year of composition or publication as a parameter.

Therefore I wonder if anyone has some recommendations on a work including clarinet written after ca. 1950? Suggestions received gratefully!

Sounds like 1948 may just fit your criteria? In which case I recommend the Octet by Egon Wellesz - for the same forces used by Schubert.

There's a Hindemith Octet (1957-58) that has some pretty prominent clarinet parts. Also Summer Music by Barber (1956).

See the attachment. You'll get reprints and a lot that's irrelevant to your interest. You can exclude stuff from your search if you wish by 'minusing' it,

Plenty of options from Francaix: e.g. 2 wind quintets, sextet, octet, clarinet quintet (with strings), decet, 7 dances, 9 character pieces, quartet (cl, Bcl, Bhn, pno). Generally quirky and interesting, but often difficult.

Jacob: Old Wine in New Bottles and the later sequel More OWINB.
