 tosca bell

I've got a buffet festival with a cracked bell. My clarinet tech has a tosca bell in inventory. I'm wondering how that would compare to the Icon bell and the festival/r13 - and whether I should just get the festival bell repaired.

Thanks.

What's the nature of the crack? More important, does it affect the sound?

"Minimal" cracks in bells rarely affect anything. I'd check that out before buying a new bell; you might be making unwarranted assumptions.

I have nothing to compare it to, but it sounds ok on my recorder (Tascam drVII mk II)

Get the bell fixed. It is not a complicated repair.

Did you try the Tosca bell? You may like it. I have Icon bells on both B flat and A but they're not everyone's cup of tea. If it's not an improvement, fix the regular bell.
