Well, I must admit, sometimes I believe the hype. Reading all the information on the "New" Chedeville website, and I thought it made sense. They even had a match-up questionnaire for what should be the best to try. Well, I did, and it was awful. Fortunately, I was able to return it, and still believing the hype, ordered a different model. Well, that one played like a turd, as well. Sent that one back, and believe it or not, I still thought their hype made sense. So, I ordered a different one, only to find myself in possession of yet another turd. Unfortunately, I had a tour, and lost track of real time, and the opportunity to return this one passed by. So, I'm stuck with it. Just for kicks, I've contacted several renown mouthpiece artists, all have refused to touch that particular brand. Interesting problem! A very expensive piece of garbage. None of the 3 I played could get past a mezzo-forte, and the sound resembled what you'd expect from a mouthpiece made of play-dough. Just thought I would caution folks to probably stay away from these. Maybe they'll be absolutely perfect for someone out there, but I doubt it.

I've had the extreme (and totally spoiling) opportunity to play several fine examples of real Vintage Chedeville Mouthpieces. They were quite wonderful. Quite unlike the 3 new examples I played.

I don't understand why a refacer would refuse to work on it. Surely they could make it playable.

Apparently not, Sir!
One told me outright that there was no way to make it a good player, and most others might have issues from dealing with the rather harsh management of that company.
