 Buffet International C13 E12 E11

Freak accident halved my Buffet International clarinet :-( It is my fault, I leaned it against the wall and if fell on the metal leg of a couch. Hitting it just at the right angle to break it in half.

The top of the lower body is destroyed. Have not heard back from the local repair shop whether we can get a replacement from Buffet, but even if we get one, it will be expensive to move the parts over by hand.

I like my instrument and thinking about just getting another used one and make the best out of the two. Having read that it is compatible with C13, E12, E11 Buffet. I was wondering whether I can expand my search to these.

Let me know what you think, Mark.

P.S. Sorry for posting twice. Wanted to add a picture of my broken clarinet, but that seems not possible. Here is a link to it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByXZCmFJJU1KR3NnWHZIR3UwNFE/view?usp=sharing

I am new to this board. I can edit a post, but not delete it. Editing possible, but not adding an attachment. Now trying to add the picture to this comment.
Wish me luck, Mark.

That's the same as an older Schreiber-built E11 lower joint as opposed to the E11 France, so you should be able to get a replacement E11 lower joint for it.

It's the much older style that has the headless point screws as opposed to the ones from the late '90s onwards that used Buffet's point screws with heads that were insert deep into the pillars as they have the plastic collar on them that supposedly locks them in place.

So an older E11 lower joint or even a wooden Evette lower joint will do the trick.

The opinions I express are my own.

I would probably repair it.
