I have a Conn 514N metal clarinet. I was recently told that the neck is not original to the clarinet because it is not a microtuner style neck.
Does anyone know whether all 514N Conn clarinets had adjustable necks? Is there a way to determine whether my neck is made by Conn?
Thanks

The microtuner neck came and went on the Conn saxes as a running change Wouldn't be surprised if this was also the case with metal clarinets.

Thanks. I looked at several catalogs. Found a similar clarinet, the 524 model in two catalogs. But in neither case did they clarify the issue. Looks like the 524 had a microtuner neck even though they don't mention it. I figure it's likely the same case with the 514. But I'm just guessing. I could spend a lot of time looking at this stuff, but I doubt it is going to conclusively answer my question.
