Can anyone tell me anything about the Donax moderated list and what kind of level it is aimed at. I'm tempted to join but on the other hand I'm suffering from email overload.

There's no traffic at all on it. You might want to join the Klarinet digest, which sends out on the average 2 email messages a day composed of the previous messages on Klarinet. It's easier to scan and delete that way.
