Hello,
I am planning to play solo with an orchestra in educational concert for primary school students. Something like Artie Shaw would be great.
Can anyone give me some idea beside Shaw concert, something light, easy listening?

A wonderful and fun piece available for Clarinet and Orchestra (also now for Wind Ensemble too) is "Viktor's Tale" by John Williams from the film "The Terminal."

I'm embarrassed by not suggesting "Viktor's Tale" since I'm playing it with a community group this summer in Texas. It really is a terrific piece. Kinda has all of the 'fun' for an audience: a lot of flashy technique (but still playable) for the wow factor, fairly short so no one will get bored and a cool little cadenza for the cherry on top on the 'solo' sundae.

Rmk54: I like Jeanjean piece but just too heavy for myself as it is morning concert, which I am sorry forgot to mention.
I will go to order couple pieces you all mentioned above and decide later. Hope the budget is okay!
