I hate to admit my ignorance, but what is meant by a forked key and an articulated key? My instrument probably has them, but I don't know what the terms specifically mean.

Forked key usually refers to having a ring around the third finger hole on the upper joint. This allows playing a good clarion Ab/Bb trill (and chalumeau Db/Eb trill). The articulated G# key permits a more accurate clarion G# / chalumeau C# as the tone hole has been moved so that it goes through the clarinet at the middle joint instead of above it.
Standard Boehm system clarinets do not have these two features. They are usually available as special options on professional level clarinets but even many pros do not get them.
