Do I repad wood clarinet for beginner or toss

I was given an old wood clarinet and would like to re-learn. It needs new pads and has a small crack in upper part of the bell. It is clean and smells decent. All the parts are stamped with Rene Demar except the bell which is stamped three times with three different names--Rene Demar, Emil Jardin, and F. L. Kaspar. Somewhere I read that Demars are not worth the money to fix them, but I saw somewhere else that one sounded really nice. Kaspar, I understand is a name for barrels, right? What about Emil Jardin? Would this be worth a re-pad and glue just so I can get back to playing for my own enjoyment?

You don't know if it plays well till it's fixed. And you don't know what broken keys etc. you might encounter pin the way.

Thanks for your response. So, I will take it to the guitar/music shop down the street for a diagnosis. I guess I was hoping that someone could give me some hope that there might be something worth saving here before I do this. I don't have luck with salespeople. The three names on the bell confuse me, because it makes me wonder if it isn't original to the instrument and whether that would affect sound. (I just caught a typo in my original post--it is actually Pierre Demar.)

Couldn't find "DEMAR" neither in New Langwill nor MiMo.
http://www.thevintageclarinetdoctor.com/clarinet-makers.html says: "Pierre Demar - A French maker, mid 20th century as far as I can tell. Can't find any info about him, but the instrument I just finished is a really nice player!"

That is the quote I saw, Michael. Thank you, and thank you for looking up the names. I am getting it re-padded and the cork checked. Thanks again.
