Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We have a professional performing opportunity for clarinet players! On July 27, 2015, The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West will host a live audition to hire our newest clarinetist. As a musician or educator, I hope you can help me in locating talented performers who may be interested in auditioning for a position in our band.

We are located in one of the most popular destinations for Air Force Bands musicians - Travis Air Force Base in sunny, northern California. Located between San Francisco and Sacramento and only minutes from Napa Valley, this is a great location to start an Air Force career.

We offer a salary of $39,121-$44,855 annually with full medical and dental benefits, 30 days paid vacation per year and GI Bill for college up to $80,000. As a member of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, we are full-time, active duty professional musicians for the United
States Air Force.

The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West awards qualified individuals an opportunity to grow as musicians in a professional environment. More importantly, the Air Force offers job security and stability in an increasingly competitive field. For more in-depth information about the USAF Band career field, specifically the Band of the Golden West, visit our website at:

http://www.bandofthegoldenwest.af.mil

Audition materials (resume and CD/mp3s) are due by June 12 and our live audition will be held at Travis AFB on July 27, 2015.

Please contact our auditions department with any questions at (707) 424-0230 or email bandofthegoldenwestauditions@gmail.com

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I heard their woodwind quintet at the Ft Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver Washington. The playing from all five players was excellent. If you want to play with fine players this would be a great opportunity!

This group is a wonderful ensemble, and I have the utmost regard for the Band of the Golden West along with all of the military bands. They are far and away some of the best bands in the world making wonderful music. I'm only too sad I don't get to hear them more often!
