 Hey, Glenn,

Heard your haiku read on the air on WNYC yesterday. Very nice!

Care to repeat it for those of us outside of WNBC'S reach?

 Five more syllables

Was that it? Did I win?

Retired, playing more sax than clarinet, but still playing clarinet and still loving it!

 This my first haiku

 Clarinet is cool
 But difficult to play well
 Practice is a must

Here is a challenge that should be right up Glenn's alley, should he choose to accept it. Create a Haiku Limerick. The rules are:

 1. The poem must consist of 5 lines. The first, third and fifth lines must contain 5 syllables; the second and fourth lines must contain seven syllables.

2 The first and second lines must rhyme. the third and fourth lines must rhyme, and the fifth line must rhyme with the first and second lines.

 3. Lines 1 through 3 and lines 3 through 5 must each comprise a good Haiku poem (with all that entails).

Closing the thread is not a fair response.

 Best regards,
 jnk

 Clarinets sold here?
 Sorry, we only serve beer.
 Okay let’s get drunk.
I might just act like a punk,
 And show you my rear.

 Drucker played Mozart
 Saturday night in Nassau.
 An ageless artist!

 A limerick crossed with Haiku
Is something I'd rather not do.
I can say with some surety
 That I prefer purity,
 And won't intermingle the two.

Glenn and I live on opposite sides of Suffolk County on Long Island. I think there's something in the air or water.
