HEllo,
I purchased an E-11 buffet crampton and I am not sure what mouthpiece I recieved with the order. And I was wondering if you could help me figure out what kind of mouthpiece it is. It has a lyre sign on the bottom of it. Does that mean it is a Vandoren mouthpiece I am going to purchase a M-13 lyre mouthpiece and I want to know what mouthpiece I have right now.?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

did you purchase the clarinet new? If so then the mouthpiece that came with it is a stock mouthpiece and is not a very good quality one. -Cathy

Buffet stock mouthpieces that I have seen have the Buffet signia and it doesn't have a Lyre on it...The Vandoren M-13 Lyre that I used to own did have a lyre on it but it also said M-13 on it...

The Vandoren mouthpieces always have their "Vandoren" scrolled across the back of the mouthpiece. Even if the gold has worn off the impression of the word should still be there. And, the M13Lyre is new enough that it should still be readable.

But, if you want a good new mouthpiece for your E-11, the M13 series was designed specifically for the Buffet R-13 at American pitch. It works great with the E-11--I've tried it. So, you might try some online sellers to get a good price.

New Vandoren mouthpieces aren't "etched" with Vandoren on the front of the mouthpiece like the ones made a few years ago. However, on the back of my Vandoren M13, where you put the reed, I've got the numbers 13 on the left side, and M on the right. These markings are etched in and aren't gold inlaid. Hope this helps!
