 Mitchell Lurie Premium Mouthpiece

I've been playing on a Mitchell Lurie Premium Mouthpiece for years, but my mouthpiece is getting very old, ugly, and just doesn't seem to play as well as it used to. I've tried to buy a new one but they aren't being made any more.

What professional grade mouthpiece would be the closest to a Mitchell Lurie Premium??

Perhaps it could benefit from work by an expert refacer. I play every day on a Lurie mouthpiece bought from his home in the middle 50s and still like it. It has had some minor retouching, however. Good luck!

If you would like to e-mail me privately, Mark, I might be able to help.

Best regards,

Weiner Music still lists the Mitchell Lurie M2 and M3 mouthpieces for sale.

Often after time, the facing wears a little and the rails may get slightly distorted, even developing a little inward tilt. A good refaced can bring it back to spec. There are a number of people who can easily do this- Walter Grabner, Brad Behn, Lee Livengood, Dave McClune would all be good people to contact about doing this. There are plenty of others, but I have seen and played the work of all of those and all of them do excellent work.

I saw that, but how do they compare to the older classification of Premium? Do you know?
