I am doing an analysis of Nielsens clarinet concerto as a school assignment. Does anyone have any intersesting facts, or actually, any information at all to do with this piece.
Thanks

You might want to check right here on sneezy in the Study section for the extensive notes on the Nielsen.

Many years ago I spoke with Mrs. Dieter Kober (her husband is a conductor in the Chicago area) and was told that she is the daughter of Aage Oxenvad, the clarinetist for whom the Nielsen concerto was written. If she is still alive, she might have some very interesting stories about her father, Nielsen and the concerto. The last phone number I find for the Kobers is 312-922-5570.

If Mrs. Kober is still alive, she may have a copy of a mysterious recording that Aage Oxenvad made of the Nielsen Concerto, put out on a Musical Heritage 78 rpm set as listed in Rich Gilbert's Clarinet Discography. I spoke to Rich about it, and he said he had never seen it, but had only come across it in a European catalog, and that it may have been an aircheck of a radio broadcast. According to Eric Nelson, Oxenvad performed the concerto many times, and one of these may have been broadcast.
I don't want to be one of a bunch of people callling Mrs. Kober. Douglas -- could you please try her? Anything about Oxenvad would be invaluable, and finding his recording of the concerto would cause a sensation.
