I've been playing a Kohlert(grenadilla) alto clarinet for about a year and want to change the mouthpiece. I now use a no-brand plastic piece with Vandoren 2.5 reed. Thank you very much for your time and effort.

I think the Selmer Paris company makes a pretty good woodwing mouthpiece. I currently use selmer mouthpieces on my tenor sax, bass clarinet and Alto clarinet. I use the C* on the sax and the HS* on the bass and alto clarinet.

Jenna and Joseph, thank both of you for your quick reply.Joseph, what size reed do you use with the Selmer HS which is relatively open?
Jenna which Selmer do you play and which reed and strength?
Thank you both.

the mouth piece is a geo bundy 3, i think.. i'm not really an authority on it.. and reeds on the alto are generally ricos or vandoren (whatever is in supply in my music department) anywhere from 2-3..
just a word to the wise.. i'm allergic to cane reeds.. not so much when i play alto, but when i play soprano.. and i'm generally less that satisfied with fibracell.. but it's all i have available right now
