I did want to seriously add that back in the early 90's a saxophone playing colleague of mine heard us clarinet geeks going on about Larry Combs. He wanted us all to know what an amazing jazz saxophone player was back in his youth. So at least at one time, the saxophone community was hip to this history.


Larry Combs did also continue to play jazz sporadically while in the CSO with a group in Chicago called "Ears."
