Greetings!
I use the Yamaha 0.8mm "soft type" mouthpiece patches. For whatever reason these are not available in the USA. I get them from the UK via mail order from Howarth or from Japan or Europe when I am there.
My question is about the fact that the "new" ones (the ones on the smaller brown card as opposed to the bright orange one) have a terrible adhesive on them (even worse than the older ones) and I have a great deal of trouble keeping them from sliding off the mouthpiece or from the patch separating from the adhesive itself.. They do not adhere to the mouthpiece well at all.
For those of you that use these specific patches, 1. Have you encountered this same issue, and if so, 2. How have you remedied the poor adhesive? The only "trick" I have found is to cut about a third of the patch off the bottom but they still don't stick well.
Thanks,
Garrick Zoeter

I use doubled sided scotch tape. It works well even on homemade patches.
