North yorkshire youth bands

hi.i've just moved to a village near york, north yorkshire, england.
I'm doing grade8 on clarinet but don't know any good youth orchestras or bands to join. Can anyone suggest something suitable?Thanks

Well, i cant be specific about Yorkshire but isnt there a Yorkshire Youth Orchestra or something similar? i dont know but it may be worth looking into.

You might want to ask the Leeds college of music. They would surely know bands in the area. My mum used to play in one 30 years ago.

You could always 'phone June Emerson's in Ampleforth. They would be able to put you in touch with the right people. The number will be in the phone book.
