hi all, i'm new to this forum. i just bought a clarinet second hand, and i'm having a really tough time trying to identify it. on the bell and on the first joint, there is an oval evette logo stamped, with the words buffet crampon beneath it. at the back of the clarinet, there is the serial number 223293. can anyone help me? many thanks in advance.

It's a Buffet Evette clarinet which were beginner level clarinets in both plastic and wood and were made for Buffet by Schreiber in Germany (and not by Buffet in France).
They were later rebranded as the Buffet B12 (plastic) and E11 (wooden) in the mid '80s and still came from the Schreiber factory who had become part of the Boosey&Hawkes group by then.

If your Evette is wood it's probably worth a refurb. They can be quite decent players. Plastic Evettes are mechanically the same as the wood instruments, so I'd consider it worth a repad. I've had several and they all played well. They can be bought on EBay for not a lot, but generally need work as bought.
