 Leblanc L300

Ive been reading the LL thread and am curious. I play an L300 and was wondering where it fell in the Leblanc line up. I thought the LL was its replacement. I love the instrument it gives me a nice dark tone, great intonation through-out the range, and the key work is a great fit. I know it was made in 85 (I called and wrote to Leblanc), however I couldn't get any specific information on it, such as bore size and type . Have there been any phenominal changes in the line since this model. It's in the back of my head to check out some of the newer models. Is this a worthwhile pursuit or should I not muddy the waters so to speak?
Thanks for any Information;
Fred R

As I understand it, the LL is the basic Leblanc Paris professional model that has been loved by pro players for generations. The bore size of the LL is .582 mm, a tad larger than the Opus or Concerto's .575mm. The LL has a great big, dark and warm tone with almost dead-on intonation and is a true joy to play.

Sorry I don't know much about the 300. You might do a search in the Sneezy archives and see what you come up with about that specific model. There is probably a topic somewhere about it.

I went to the Leblanc website (www.gleblanc.com) and ordered a catalogue. It took a while, but it was filled with information. I think you would enjoy it.

I own both an L300 and a LL and love them both. I don't think leblanc mad many L300's because I don't know anyone else who owns one and have not found any information about them from leblanc or anywhere else. When my dad bought his new, he said it was the most expensive horn at the shop. The horn has a beatiful tone but seems to out of tune in the very low register. I am interested in what you find. If you find somehting really neat I would apreciate it if you would mail me at eweigel@yahoo.com. Good luck in your search.
