Sure there are plenty of physical tuners available. I have an old Yamaha YT-3000. Got a smartphone or tablet? Download a free tuner app. I use PanoTuner on my iPhone. There are also free tuners on various web sites that use your PC mic.
Some tuners will allow you to set so when you play a C it says "C". Otherwise when you play C it will say "Bb" and so on, which you can just ignore and tune as Bb anyway.

For a clarinet you just need a straightforward chromatic tuner, nothing unique to the clarinet.
You can get a simple one for under £20 or all singing dancing for over £100.
The ability to set the tuning pitch at say A = 430 - 450 range rather than just 440 can be quite useful.
I find Korg make good quality ttuners.
Look at Dawkes website for ideas.

I am going to invent a clarinet tuner that attaches to a clarinet that has a display the clarinetist can see from Google glasses. By "reading" muscle movements it knows what note one is playing. And it has a pitch adjuster to bring the note into tune.

Without question you want to have one of the Korg tuners. I don't trust a phone to do a tuner's job....it's a PHONE!!!!
KORG:
TM 50 = combo metronome/tuner for $30.00
WiFi = huge display on the readout portion, the tuning gizm clips to your horn for $100.00
OT-120 = An actual needle meter, the orchestral musician's standard for $75.00
For the love of God, don't use your phone !!!!!

Actually, the phone app is my best choice when I've got ~2 minutes backstage at church to warm up and tune, generally in a baptism changing room (I learned that has to be on the men's side even though that's the wrong side of the sanctuary, LOL). There's too much going on in auditorium to warm up out there. So as service is about to begin, I step out into auditorium, plug my barrel mic wire into the sound system and put the clarinet on a stand in the corner, and go sit down at the organ where I'm usually playing. At offertory time (15 min later?) during prayer I high tail it up on stage to grab horn and be ready for 1st notes 30 sec later. This was more secure when I was using Legere, but caps have kept my cane reeds wet enough so far. It's always a solo so it's all exposed- those 1st notes are always a terror, within 2 or 3 measures I know how well it's going to go. Fortunately only 1 or 2 tough experiences out of maybe 20 times.
Anyway, the phone app is the right tool for that job, and I always have it with me.
If you haven't ever done anything like this, sometime try prepping your horn and then picking it up 15 min later and pretend you're playing for a big important audience, and you're not allowed to even toot before "you're on".

The sensitivity of the condenser microphone in your phone was not designed to pick up pure pitches and their associated overtones. Not to mention that it is a good idea to have this specific TOOL for this specific job.
For accuracy I DO specifically refer to oscilloscopes and NEEDLE style tuners (such as the OT-120). I'm not that crazy about inexpensive tuners, but a tuner is better than no tuner. I had a guy measure the sound pressure level of standard conversation that goes on in an average cafeteria at '86 continuous decibels' with a decibel measuring AP on his phone ......please.
