 Hi all,

Does anyone have experience with the Yamaha showroom in NYC? I'm looking into their CSGs and I'm considering a visit.

 Thank you!

Contact David Niethamer, who is on this BBD.

He's a Yamaha artist, and I'm pretty sure I recall him mentioning the showroom at some point.

Or get in touch with Yamaha at http://usa.yamaha.com/support/contact/.

 B.

Thank you all! I have contacted Yamaha Artist Services but they have yet to reply to me... Does anyone know of any other stores around NYC that have a great stock of Yamaha CSGs?

 Hi S.H.J.,

I communicated with Yamaha on and off for months about the same thing. To be blunt -- many times my communications were not returned at all. Tomoji was the exception early on, but I was handed off to sales and communication deteriorated. Ultimately the CSG's are selling quickly and the production barely keeping up with demand, and the showroom could never get a critical mass of clarinets in to make a trip from Virginia to NY worth it.

The most that I was told were available were 4 Bb's and 2 A's -- and usually it was less than that. Perhaps things have improved since last year?

FWIW -- I did ultimately buy a pair of CSG's, and I was able to trial a couple. They were very consistent and I bought them.

 James

PS -- at VMEA convention I spoke with the Yamaha rep (he was not based in NY) and he said they are all crazy busy. We spoke about arranging a trial through him. I emailed him -- never heard from him again.
