Has anyone tried/reviewed this new reed yet? I've been unable to find any reviews from the various Legere artists.

Cheers.

Funny thing. I just got them in and I need a new reed. I'll try to remember to try it this week.

I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I'm new to playing any musical instrument and have been playing a Bass clarinet for a little less than a year(mostly self taught). I got tired of the vagaries of cane reeds and tried synthetic. I tried a regular Legere bass clarinet #2 (the softest of the series), but it was too hard even after boiling. When they came out with the Signature series I got a 1 1/2 and it plays great for me. I've been using it for about 4 months with no problems. Just take it out and play. I also tried a Fibracell, but the band instructor ( I'm 69, but play with a local academy high school band) said I needed to switch to cane after hearing it. Since I've been using the Legere he said my tone is much improved, but as of yet, I haven't told him I'm playing a synthetic.

I tried both the signature and regular Legree reeds.
I liked the Signature much better, in terms of tone, response and the ease of controlling the dynamic range. The regular, to me, felt like a mediocre reed that I'd probably won't bother with, where the Signature was very good if not excellent.

My only complaint is that the Signatures only go to #3 strength and my preference is #4.
I emailed Legere about it and the response was that they are not plannig on making stronger reeds any time soon.
