 Polishing business

Ever since my Foag German bass clarinet arrived in HK, its silver parts have been tarnishing a bit under the hot and humid air of HK. I'd like to are there any recommendation of Silver ploishes to remove the tarnish? And how about removing itthe keyworks that are integral to the wood body? Does the silver polish affect the Genadilla?

I don't know about affecting the Grenadilla, but is hard as heck to get it out of the grain in the wood. The thing that I have found most useful in removing the tarnish is the stuff that is used to clean glass-top stoves. If the tarnishing is more on the touch points it is probably due to the acid in your skin. If it is all over all of the metal parts then you are probably right about the humidity, etc. Some clear nail polish on the touch points will help some too.

To remove a light tarnish I don't use silver polishing fluid; a dry silver polishing cloth is sufficient. Here in the German auction site you can find some of them under "Silberpoliertuch" or "silver polishing cloth" e.g. "Hagerty silver care" or a "Silberputztuch" for 2.80 Euros in the online catalog of Rudolf Pflaumer. Btw: wouldn't Martin Foag send you one; I imagine that they are needed frequently for his metal clarinets?
