Never met the man, though I grew up about six blocks from him. I regret not having at least met him. Even though he retired after I had been playing only 3 years, I think exposure to the orchestral repertoire at that young an age could have made a big impact on my future. What's done is done though.
RIP Mr. Williams.

He was a very nice man. I met him several times over the years and each time was a pleasure.
