Has anyone tried the new vandoren reed trimmer?

I just saw it here:

http://www.vandoren-en.com/Reed-Trimmer_a720.html

Quite different from there old trimmer. They say this one has the same blade they use to cut the reeds at the factory. Also they have a different profile for each reed type. It looks quite nice but expensive at about $165.

Has anyone tried it yet?

Yes I noticed that recently. But why different tip profile for each reed, surely they are all used on the same range of mouthpieces?

Different choices by players and mouthpieces.

Variety!

I haven't tried this reed trimmer, so I have no basis to compare, but I've always been very happy with my Dilutis reed trimmer, which uses a replaceable blade to make the cut rather than shearing the cane off. (This would be important for those who think that shearing crushes the tubes at the tip, affecting the playing characteristics.)

At 2/3 the cost of the Vandoren, the Dilutis is worth considering.

I have a couple of old Cordiers and a no-name Chinese clipper. The Chinese one works best, but they all clip Legeres perfectly.
