 help with identifying this?

I have a bflat that is marked with tres-bonne artiste. I know that it has to be at least 40 years old (my father gave it to me when I was in high school and he had it when he was in high school). I have been unable to locate any information on this so far and would like to know some more details about it if i can find the manufacturer.

Yeah - pictures please. What an appalling stencil name. How self-deprecating - kind of like Ralph's pretty good grocery. I think Robert Malerne would have died of embarrassment at having to stamp "pretty good artist" on each standard he shipped out. I doubt B&C would have had any scruples though; nor would Couesnon. They both advertised that they would put any name on a stencil clarinet for any customer. And as Couesnon was claiming to be the biggest maker of clarinets in the world it's really possible that much of the crap blamed on Malerne should actually fall on Couesnon (or Buffet Crampon who made lots of stencil crap in their own right).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but très means "very", doesn't it? So it would be "very good artist" not "pretty good artist".

I have a Bb with the name "Educational Gateways Artist" on upper joint and bell. The keywork is clearly Malerne, so your is probably the same.
