Oiling a cracked clarinet

I've recently acquired an old wooden clarinet which I intend to refurbish. It obviously hasn't been played in a while, so I intend to oil it and also spend some time playing it in gradually to humidify the wood. The problem is, there is a small crack in the top joint that doesn't reach the bore and which I intend to glue.

I presume I should leave the playing-in until last, to avoid the risk of worsening the crack. But would it be best to fix the crack first and then oil the instrument, or to oil it first and then fix the crack?

yes you must glue crack prior to oiling; had better yet clean crack with rubbing alcohol and then glue. Google there are numerous woodwork articles on challenges of gluing oily exotic woods.

and yes superglue, then cosmetic finish and then oil. Clean keys, re-pad (if needed), test play and adjust.
