 Selmer RI

Hi guys,

I really love to read and learn from this forum, its great! I just purchase a selmer RI B flat clarinet. Well, my love of vintage stuffs has something to do with the decision. It has been toned and tuned profesionally. It has a matching serial numbers and its on its way here.
I don't really know much abt RI's history. I only know that it was made for 2 years only, frm 1932-1934? And it was succeded by BT n CT?
Is it true that older clarinet cannot match modern clarinets? In what ways? And does the age of the wood has something to do with that? Or perhaps iin RI case, its a large bore clarinet? Currently I have a pair of selmer 10S, BH emperor, and a pre YCL series wooden yamaha which I bought in 1984.

I have searched the forum abt RI and it was thro the comments that I made up my mind to get one.

Thank You
Bambang

My son is learning to play clarinet now!
