AH!!!! Wonderful playing!
Michelle Zukovski continues to play better and better. The L.A. Philharmonic is quite amazing too. Thank you for the link.

I enjoyed it as well but had a very hard time hearing her. I did enjoy her unusual interpretation that really sounded like a dance rather than an excerpt.

If I were Wurlitzer, I would be proud that Michelle Zukovsky has chosen to play my clarinet design with such distinction in a major American orchestra since the mid 1970s (?). She is clearly one of the most "listenable" clarinetists in any orchestra today. Her YouTube performance of the Weber Concertino is my favorite interpretation of that piece. She brings out the dark and shadowy Romantic turns of the solo part, especially in the chalumeau, and is more than capable in the rapid sections.

Are you sure it was Michele playing? I haven't asked her, nor have heard this yet, but Burt could have been playing on it.
Check out Michele's John Williams Clarinet Concerto on iTunes or Amazon. That is wonderful also!
I produce her Music.

DB, you're the person to ask re MZ - does she have exclusive performance rights on JW's Clarinet Concerto? I've only seen her as having recorded it. (She is an interesting person to see in person.) I wasn't happy about the quality of the iTunes download of a couple of years ago - has it been revised at all recently?
Re the LAPhil's performance of Kodaly, they announced her as soloist.
