Most of the clarinet appearances are contextual with the oboe or as foil for the flute to do the filigree like figures. So I assume you mean what happens on this recording at 3:48? Here, you have more freedom to make it your own, however, you are constrained by how your oboist plays the solos that come before. You can 'schmultz it up,' but stay in the the same ballpark as your peers.
