 Clarinet Band Music

A few years ago on eBay, I purchased a clarinet repertoire for band book--specifically, Bandman's Clarinet Repertoire Volume 1 - Overtures. It was an awesome find and contains the clarinet part for band versions of classic overtures. Since then I have searched high and low to find volume two, but it is out of orint and I doubt even the Library of Congress has it (I searched online with no luck).

I know that there are orchestra clarinet parts on cd. Is there something similar for band?

If not, does anyone know a website where you can purchase or download just the clarinet part of a larger band work?

Respectfully,
Mike

Not that I know of!! For a CD at least.

To buy individual parts, go to jwpepper.com and they have that.

There are some in IMSLP. For example Holst's First Suite in Eb is here: http://imslp.org/wiki/First_Suite_for_Military_Band,_Op.28_No.1_(Holst,_Gustav)

There are tons of Sousa marches and many have parts....all for free download. So, if you know the name of the composer you want you can do a search. Everything is public domain, so if you are looking for something written after the 1920's you will not find it on IMSLP.

Happy searching!

Are you referring to the Carl Fischer Band books? Those would be a shame not to have in print. All the 'standards' are in those.

Was it the Boosey and Hawkes Band book? I have one just like the OP describes and it may well be the other volume...

Allentown Band has 4800 titles in its library. Sousa Band had about 10,000, but where they are now, I don't know. Detroit Concert Band made all Sousa marches available from their library, years ago.
