Hi , I have A very old TAROGATO today i saw that one of the keys was leaking because of a loose spring but when i tried to bend it a bit it broke. this spring is very old and the key have no screw. what can i do to fix it ? should i silver solder it? will it hold. I will be very grateful for any advice. i have included images so you could really understand the problem
THANKS!

Eliot: I would imagine you could drill out the old "screw" that held the spring, tap the hole, replace the spring with an appropriate new one and attach with a new screw. Any part of the screw exiting the top side could be filed down.

the problem is there was no screw there. maybe the metal was solder on the spring no idea. i guess my only option is to solder it.. i hope it will hold
thanks!

Well, why not drill a hole and proceed as above?? I sure looks like a screw was holding the original.

Drill it out and rivet a new spring in place. Make the rivet from a piece of brass rod that's been annealed and hammer it in place on an anvil, then file down the top side to make it smooth and flush with the touchpiece surface and polish it smooth.

You're right, Chris. Closer examination indicates that is a rivet that was holding the spring.
