hi everybody. I'm a highschool sophmore who's interested in playing clarinet professionaly. My regular mouthpiece (a vandoren B-45) was scratched at the tip. ::sob:: . I really need help getting a new mouthpiece. My teacher recommended a wurlitzer clarinet mouthpiece from germany, but getting them isn't as easy as it seems. If anyone can help me finding a wurlitzer clarinet mouthpiece, please help. thanks!

P.S. My teacher already tried wurlitzerA@aol.com and wurlitzer@aol.com, and both of the email address don't work anymore.

Wurlitzer mouthpieces would most probably be German style (if Wurlitzer sold mouthpieces - I haven't seen any for sale, though). There's plenty to choose from, and checking the Sponsor's page here on Sneezy would link you to a few sources. You may also want to check out the Resources/Retail section here.

Let me chime my familiar tune,

"Avoid buying anything made from "Unobtanium"...
Choose a medium open, medium facing that allows use of a #3 to #3 1/2."

"Play everything you wish to buy FIRST."

"Don't buy from your teacher directly, that's a conflict of interest."

"Do take your teacher's recommendation seriously, that's what you pay for."

The B45 is a rather open mouthpiece, with reasonably good tuning, check out the M1x series from Vandoren (they're a little uneven, so test play first).

There are some good sellers on the classified pages. I have one from Dave Spiegelthal and another from Brenda Siewert. They're good folks and will steer you in the right direction.

When you find one that you like, get a spare for 'just in case'.

I played on the B-45 mp and my teacher wanted me to go to a Woodwind K10M. Maybe you can try that. I like it a lot
