My orchestra is doing this tune and I just got the part. My orchestra manager was informed that a bass clarinet plays during the last movement, with the part being in the Clar II score. But we see no directive saying "Bass Clarinet" in the Clar II part.
Can anyone help us? Thanks.

The bass clarinet passage, 6 bars in length, is in the 1st clarinet part. It's cued in 1st bassoon, which seems like the more logical way to handle it.

I disagree - the most logical way would be for the second player to cover it.
I believe this is one of the earliest appearances of the Bass Clarinet in a symphony.

When we did it in the BSO I played second and put the bass part in my part. It was a quick change though and I needed to make sure my reed would respond after sitting there for so long. Another time we did It I doubled the first part and played the bass solo. It's best done on a bass clarinet if possible.

It is unusual, but it's not impossible for the principal player to play it. I didn't find the switch to be too cumbersome when I did it. It just depends on who is best suited to play those very brief, but crucial, measures.
