I am not too familiar with Normandy clarinets. Is this clarinet really from 1892 do you think or is it a typo? I have e-mailed the owner but no response yet.

That's what I thought, thank you It looks like a nice clarinet but I would like a better idea of it's age.

You could send the seller an email, but there's not much time before the auction closes. If the reserve is not met, you can try to negotiate with the seller.

I notice that the logo actually says Normandy 4 so it is Leblanc's current version of the Normandy. Now I don't know exactly when the Normandy 4 model was introduced but it would have been within the last few decades. Prior to introduction of the Vito model, the Normandy was made of plastic, was stamped Normandy Resotone, and was their student model. Once the Vito was introduced, Leblanc upgraded the Normandy to a step up model and made it of wood. Now the Vito model is named for Vito Pascucci, who did not join the Leblanc firm until shortly after World War II. Naturally it takes a little time to establish oneself with a firm and end up having a product named for them. I believe the Vito model was introduced in the 1950s or 1960s.
