Sax man here with a clarinet question. I bought up a collection of older horns and in going through them I found a new Gennusa "excellente" intermediate GE*S mouthpiece in original packaging new.
Did some research but still not sure of desireability nor value, any info appreciated!!!

You probably have the student version (plastic), of the GE*. It's supposedly an excellent mouthpiece for younger players, and it sells for $30 - $35.
I like my hard rubber version, and if your new mouthpiece is anything like it, you have a quality product.

The plastic version of the the Excellente is called the Mezzo. All the Excellentes are hard rubber.
I once had a Mezzo for use with my "beer tent" clarinet, and it was a very fine player. I parted with it only because I was selling a clarinet to a friend, and after test playing it with the Gennusa Mezzo, he insisted on buying the mouthpiece along with the clarinet.
If you like your Excellente, by all means play it with pride and treasure it for what it is. New ones sell for about US$80, last time I looked.

Yes, Greg, you're right. I wasn't able to get into Ben Redwine's website yesterday, but it's up today and the Mezzo is listed.
However, there is a GE*S shown on the Doctor's Products site for $32:

I wonder if it's the same as the Mezzo, or a newer or older model.
