Hi everyone,
For one of my classes, I'm doing a project about mythology in music. I'd like to do something about Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, but I can only do it if I have other work(s) using the same story for the sake of comparison. For example, I'm looking at different operas involving the myth of Orpheus and Euridice. I plan on researching some more, but I've found out that I miss out on a lot of obscure yet wonderful compositions because they aren't listed in various books. (Sorry this doesn't have to do specifically with clarineting.)

Sorry I forgot that part!
I'm looking for any other works based on the Firebird story.

Steve -
Your e-mail address shows you're at Providence. Go to the music library, read about The Firebird in Grove, and then ask the music librarian for help to find additional material. Sorry to be snippy, but that's really the right way to do it.

Thank you for the idea, Ken. However, there are two problems: 1.) There is no article on the Firebird legend in Grove, and Stravinsky's article doesn't mention other composers who used the tale as far as I can see. 2.) Our school music library is a small room with records in it, no librarian. Thanks for trying though.
